The 8Magga Story

From Divine Threads to Global Fabrics

Did you know Indians were pioneers of clothing? Devara Dasimayya from Devanga community weaved clothes for the Gods. If India could weave for Gods, wouldn’t you think India is capable of weaving for the world?

We have the art, expertise and knowledge which was adorned by god. It makes me think, can’t we source the best clothing, fabric to Mankind all over the world?

And the answer is Yes! With 8Magga, it’s a venture that we want to make, a promise to provide the best fabrics, best weaves, and best textiles to the world.

This thought made me start 8Magga, Magga is a word in Kannada which means weaving machine. I see that our weaving machines are making less noise locally and globally, at the peak of time we weaved with the best silk, gold and silver threads. I see the dim. My efforts to uplift the weavers is 8Magga(8path of salvation), my path of pure service to local weavers, artisans and to the world.

Our mission

At 8Magga, our mission is to empower local weavers and artisans by connecting their craftsmanship to the global stage.

Our vision

Our vision is to make local weaves vocal and global. We dream of a world where the art of Indian weaving is recognized, valued, and cherished across continents.
